Job Description
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is responsible for protecting and promoting the safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families through child welfare, juvenile justice services, and community-based supports. ACS oversees foster care services, subsidized childcare vouchers, child protection investigations, and juvenile detention, placement, and community-based programs.
The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) provides legal advice and representation to the ACS Commissioner and all Agency divisions. OGC identifies legal risks, ensures compliance with court orders, consent decrees, and regulatory mandates, and works closely with the NYC Law Department to reduce litigation exposure and defend the Agency
