Job Description
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) protects public health and enriches the environment for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water daily, managing wastewater and stormwater systems, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the nation’s largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility, with nearly 6,000 employees. The Bureau of Customer Services (BCS) is responsible for producing and collecting water and sewer bills and maintaining the City’s extensive meter and meter-reading infrastructure. BCS serves approximately 836,000 customers and collects more than $4.5 billion in revenue annually.
