Job Description
The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) plays a vital role in the City’s evolving criminal justice system, supporting reform initiatives aimed at creating a smaller jail system while maintaining public safety. DOC is responsible for ensuring safe, secure, and humane environments for staff, visitors, volunteers, and individuals in custody. Through these efforts, DOC helps individuals in custody access the tools and services necessary for successful community reintegration. DOC operates facilities and court commands across all five boroughs and employs more than 7,500 dedicated professionals.
DOC is seeking a qualified Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional services to individuals in custody.
Key Responsibilities
The Dietitian will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Provide nutritional care to individuals in custody and monitor outcomes of nutrition interventions.
Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized Nutrition Care Plans.
Interview individuals in custody to obtain dietary histories and assess food habits.
